Disability Matters

Terry Boisot is Ben's mother, President of the California Alliance for Inclusive Communities, and a member of the board of the Arc of the United States, the nation's leading national organization on mental retardation.. Terry also writes a weekly column for the Santa Barbara, California NewsPress entitled Disability Matters.
The August-September edition of CAPT Outreach magazine has an article by its editor, Keith Hearn, entitled "And the heat goes on" regarding a series of articles on California's developmental centers by Terry. In reading "And the heat goes on," an uninformed person might get the impression that the only responses to Terry's series were from parents of children in developmental centers, who were critical of the series.
This was not the case. I, among others, also had guest perspectives and letters published in support. In the interest of accuracy and fairness, I have posted Terry's articles and all the letters/guest perspectives expressing all points of view.
